Students from our CCC school site, along with staff, visited the Science Museum in South Kensington. We spent the first part of our trip exploring the first-floor exhibition all about Medicines and Bodies and were able to learn about the transmission of different diseases, which is the topic students are currently studying in Biology.
We then booked a visit to the 'Wonderlab', the museum's interactive gallery. Here, we viewed ourselves through an infrared camera, created 'clouds', built bridges, solved puzzles, made aeroplanes, and even orbited the sun! A favourite amongst students was testing out the friction slides (even teachers enjoyed this one!) and investigating lightning and static shocks.
Students also enjoyed choosing a fridge magnet to keep at school as a reminder of our trip to the Museum.
We had a really great day and are looking forward to visiting again in the near future to explore the exhibitions we haven't yet had a chance to see!
