On Thursday 10th October, staff and students at Chelsea Community College decided to play board games together to celebrate World Mental Health Day in the workplace.
Here is why we chose this way to celebrate it at school:
Playing board games offers numerous benefits for both young people and staff, fostering mental well-being and social skills. For young people, these games enhance critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork, while also providing a fun way to develop patience and resilience. Staff can benefit from improved communication and collaboration skills, as board games create a relaxed environment for bonding and breaking down hierarchical barriers. Additionally, engaging in shared activities helps to reduce stress, encourages creativity, and strengthens relationships, contributing to a more cohesive and supportive community. Overall, board games serve as an excellent tool for personal growth and team dynamics.
