HOPE Congress in Dublin
Four members of our school team attended this year’s HOPE Congress in Dublin, where the theme was "Sharing Information, Sharing Knowledge, Sharing Practice." The HOPE Congress is a fantastic opportunity to connect with hospital educators from around the world, with over 270 delegates from 27 countries attending presentations and workshops.
We were especially proud that two of our former students, Ciera and Tatyana, who both now work with us at Chelsea Community Hospital School, gave a joint presentation. They shared their experiences of living with health conditions and their journey from being students at our school to becoming colleagues. Tatyana is currently training with us to become a teacher, while Ciera works on our Well at School project. They both spoke with clarity and passion, and it is so important that their voices are heard by teachers everywhere.
Shaun, our artist in residence, led a fantastic collaborative art workshop. Martin, along with Ciera, spoke to delegates about the Well at School project. Both Shaun and Martin are also active behind the scenes with HOPE. Shaun is the new committee member for the UK, and Martin is Secretary to the Board of HOPE.
The HOPE Congress continues to be an inspiring event and we are already looking forward to HOPE 2027!
