Jonah wrote this poem whilst he was with us at St Mary's. I am sure you will agree that it is fantastic and vividly describes the hospital ambience.
In English at St Mary’s, students have been exploring the theme of water. As today is National Poetry Day, students explored the poem ‘Blessing’ by Imtiaz Dharker. Emelia and Stella created this Powerpoint in which they found pictures to go with the powerful imagery in the poem.
In English this term we have been looking at poetry, particularly poets who live and write about Africa.
We looked in detail at a poem by Niyi Osundare, a Nigerian poet.
The poem entitled, Not my Business explores the fears and responses to living in an oppressive society where people are subjected to beatings and even disappear.
Flory read the story of Farmer Duck really well and then he made his own puppet show with some of the animals.
In English we have been studying Greek mythology. We read the story of the "Wooden Horse of Troy" and two of our amazing pupils made these fantastic horse models using cardboard boxes, acrylic paint, wooden wheels and axels and wool.
Mohammed wrote this wonderful poem 'Star' with the 'Fire Poet' Philip Wells.
