StuartStuart's Football Challenge
We desperately need someone who can help one of our long term students, Stuart, realise his plans to
"Visit all London teams in, The Premier League, The Championship, League 1 and League 2 in one day on public transport" and raise money for our hospital school.

stuart_large Stuart has been a patient on Rose Ward at the Royal Brompton Hospital many times since he was a few years old. Now he is 18 years old and he has transferred to the adult services on Foulis Ward.  Stuart has Cystic Fibrosis which means his admissions to hospital are planned every 3 months for 2 to 3 weeks at a time. This is not just an interruption of his education but also his social and recreational life.  Despite this, Stuart has managed to maintain an energy and commitment to learning and developing his social network.

As a pupil of the hospital school over the past 12 years, Stuart was motivated by trips to the London Football Clubs and grounds, including  Chelsea, Arsenal and Wembley Stadium.  Occasionally, we have been lucky enough to be given tickets to a match, enabling many patients to have an opportunity to experience a live football match.  These outings have been incredibly successful and positive experiences for both patients and their families.

To show his appreciation of the hospital school and to highlight the pleasure that football gives to young people in hospital, Stuart approached us with a great idea for “Putting something back into the Hospital School for all the support you have given me over the years.”  His idea is to visit every London Football Club in the Premier and First Division,  in one day by public transport and have a photograph taken in the ground with a representative of the club and hopefully collect a piece of memorabilia from each club which could then be auctioned by the school.

If you are able in any way to help Stuart realise his plans then please contact our Head Teacher - Janette Steel here or phone Janette on 0203 315 8672 /3
