Friends of Chelsea Community Hospital School is delighted to have been chosen by the partners of Peter Jones Sloane Square as one of three charities to go through to the customer voting round of the department store's Community Matters Scheme.

The power now lies in the hands of Peter Jones customers (you?) as they are now directly involved in deciding how much we will receive, via a green token voting system in the department store's 'The Top Floor Restaurant'.

The voting round will last for three months, from 1 August to 31 October. At the end of the round, Peter Jones will split a £3,000 donation according to the proportion of the customer vote we receive.

The Friends will use the donations received to guarantee weekly access to equine therapy sessions for children and young people with medical and/or mental health conditions attending the Hospital School.

Equine therapy has been proven to not only improve the physical wellbeing but also the mental wellbeing of children by working with the natural behaviour of horses. Horses are large animals and achieving control over a large animal can instil enormous self-esteem and confidence, which is beneficial in helping children develop resilience and handle mental health difficulties.

Every green token counts, so please get voting for us!
