Maria's Music

Alex, our wonderful intern at the Brompton, has been teaching Maria, one of our students, guitar. When Maria arrived at RBH she had been recently gifted a guitar from her father, but was yet to learn to play it. Three weeks later, she was able to play a full album's worth of songs, and knew all of her chords! As a piece of memorabilia for her hard work during her stay at the hospital, she recorded several songs (American, English, and Greek pieces). Well done Maria!

World Book Day at the Brompton

Lewis Carroll was the chosen author for the week and the characters from Alice in Wonderland came out in force!
They also bumped into Harry Potter whilst in the wood. Apparently he was in the middle of a game of Quidditch and had lost his Golden Snitch!
The children selected their own books to take home which were bought using the book vouchers.
Thank you World Book Day!

Recycle - Anything Can Happen!

Last week, we were learning how plastic was made. Maria watched a video and told us; ‘It’s made from oil underground.’ Maria then composed a questionnaire for staff about their views on recycling. From this Maria decided that more should be done to recycle. Maria was given some plastic bags to make ‘anything’. She drew a design and made the product using only plastic bags and a pair of scissors. Paris, Milan, New York, here we come!
