Chelsea & Westminster

RE Trips

t1s
Our students have had the pleasure of experiencing three different places of worship this summer term. We visited a Buddhist Wat where pupils were able to share in the mediation process. At the Hindu Mandir students observed the Aarti service and when we visited the Sikh Gurdwara pupils had the pleasure of being able to try Langar - the free kitchen!

Blackout Poetry

The young people at Lavender Walk have been experimenting with language this week for National Writing Day 2019. We played poetic devices noughts and crosses, metaphor mayhem, and created some beautiful and thought-provoking 'Blackout Poetry'. Anyone can create their own pieces by just playing with words!

Chinese Gardens

Students took part in a workshop with Steve from the V&A. They learned about toys from history and had the opportunity to make their own Chinese Gardens using a range of different materials.

Peace means a lot!

While discussing entering the Fourth Plinth school awards competition during our art class at Chelsea and Westminster, we turned to philosophy to evaluate what is important. Mikael analyses his artwork while stating what he wants from the world.

Teddy's 'Making Your Mark' Animation

teddy

Teddy has been working on our Making Your Mark project. He drew three pictures based on his marks to make a beginning, middle and end of a story. He then wrote the story, created a storyboard, made props and worked with Fred to create this fantastic animation. Well done Teddy - we are really proud of you!
